Fast food at School?

I do not agree with the idea that fast food should be taken out of school cafeterias. People argue that this amount of calories intake is not healthy. They want to take it out of the school cafeterias. This is not a good idea. Kids who buy the lunches in the cafeteria don't have many choices. There might be only one thing they can have for a main dish or vegetable. Then they can choose something from the fast food menu as a change. If they can't choose, they might eat more of it outside. Plenty of kids buy only junk food for lunch. These options are available as a cheap substitute to food they may not be able to afford. Kids need to eat something "fatty" sometimes as it allows them to feel happy and less stressed for a bit.  Even though fatty food has some sugar in them, they are still better than other things like old spoilt food. I think it is better for kids to at least to take their calories intake from fast food rather than not eating at all. Some kids just can...

Television causes an increase in violence in children.

Children are great imitators. Imaginary play and modeling their favorite characters are commonplace among the young. There has been overwhelming evidence that suggests viewing violent and aggressive behavior on television, does indeed directly affect children.   Children can readily imitate what they see. Just ask any parent whose child has learned their ABC's by watching Sesame Street. After repeated viewing, their child began reciting their ABCs from memory. Learning violence is no exception. It can be imitated and learned in the same manner as how the alphabet was committed to memory. The only difference is when children watch negative behavior, it is that negativity that they learn and mimic. It is not something as harmless as the ABCs.  Authorities on child behavior agree that what a child watches do indeed affect their behavior. Young children see violence on television and they have a difficult time differentiating between what is real or what ...

Internet: Positive Or Negative?

To majority of teenagers and working adults, the Internet has been regarded as one the most innovative achievements of humankind. internet's pervasive and life-altering influences can be felt in many aspects of people's daily lives. While mostly beneficial in areas such as communication, trade and research, the internet has also caused a proliferation of pornography and hacking.  Communication all over the world has been considerably improved thanks to the Internet. With the widespread availability of messengers and social networks, people can easily communicate irrespective of their geographic locations. Gone are the days when international communication meant a delay of several days to months. Today, interaction through the Internet is more convenient, it also has options to allow face to face interaction such as through the use of Skype.  On the other hand, objectors of the Internet argue that it spoils the young generation by spreading pornography and violence, which is co...

Attention seeking

Enjoying the attention of others is quite socially acceptable. In some instances, however, the need for attention can lead to difficulties. The term attention seeking (or attention-seeking) is generally reserved for such situations, where excessive and “inappropriate attention seeking” is seen. Examples of attention seeking include: * the man who complains loudly in a restaurant so that everyone will notice * the girl who wears the skimpiest of outfits on a cold winter night * the mother who sighs loudly and crashes the dinner dishes about so that the family will hear that she's a martyr to domesticity * the child who has a tantrum in the supermarket * the teenager who feigns illness to obtain sympathy.

Happiness

Today, I read about the happiness. Let's see what I came across Research in the US has found that older Americans are generally happier than younger adults. The effect does not appear to be generational, because longitudinal research found that happiness increased over time for the older people who were studied. While older individuals reported more health problems, they reported fewer problems overall. Young adults reported more anger, anxiety, depression, financial problems, troubled relationships and career stress. But happiness will be still mysterious and hard to define. What do you think?
